A very nice pair of trousers, but hard to get the right size

These are enormous on my 15 year old son, I struggled to find a size which didn't swamp him at the waist. The seams also chafed him when he was out on a wet winter hunt, so he wears cycling shorts underneath. Other than the seams, they're a nice soft material and good value.
